Coffee in the Office

Office Caffeine: How I Turned Ours into a Double Shot of Inspiration

Coffee in the Office
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Coffee in the Office

A few weeks ago, I shared photos of our new office.

It’s an ideal space to:

  • brainstorm,
  • create new brands, and
  • develop new ways to break through the deafening noise in today’s marketplaces.

So I imagined, what might it be like to take our new offices to a whole new level?

A Double Shot of Self Espresso

Many years before I developed a love for a fine espresso or breve, I remembered my days growing up in New York City and going to galleries in SOHO and the MoMA. That explosion of “Oh wow, I didn’t expect that!” had a big impact on me (expectation plays such an enormous role in every aspect of business as fully covered here).

The Office, Reimagined

So I first explored this notion with this section of our office, converting our wall clock into a wrist watch (the first image is the before followed by the new treatment):

Defying Gravity in the Office Design

Sharing this with a few colleagues, the response was a universal, “OMG!”

So, I continued to explore other parts of the office.

When you first walk into the office, here is what you would see (inspired by the famous “tale a number” counters that have become so much a part of our culture):

The opposite wall features an original oil painting of mine from my teens and was the perfect interpretation of “the selfie” (decades before any of us knew what that was):

Walking toward the rear of the office is our beautiful spot color wall:

And no office would be complete without the kitchen somehow being impacted by this bit of indulgence:

There it is.

My design fantasy in our office, converting the everyday into a living, breathing inspiration.

All it takes is a little dreaming, a little inspiration and a little ingenuity.
