Shiny Object Syndrome — the cure

If you have a business today, you’ve experienced “shiny object syndrome.”

One site defines it this way:

“a disease of distraction, and it affects entrepreneurs specifically because of the qualities that make them unique. … It’s called shiny object syndrome because it’s the entrepreneurial equivalent of a small child chasing after shiny objects.”

Focus. Yeah, I’m Talking To You.

There’s one thing that’s timeless that will help prevent you from being tempted by the latest “solution du jour.”

Imagine this scene in a sci-fi movie:

“Oh great master, will I ever feel complete?”

“Oh, you NEVER will young seeker…”

WTF!? That’s not how any of these soul-searching Hollywood sci-fi scripts end. (That would be worse than eternal teenage hormonal imbalance… and the accompanying zits!).

There’s always a way. It’s our DESTINY to find a way.

Shiny Object Syndrome 101: “How do I keep up with all the ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-changes?” (Thank you, David Bowie.)

Ever felt like one of those cats on YouTube hypnotically chasing the bouncing light on the wall?
