Last year, Richard Branson was featured in an article in Fortune magazine with 3 simple questions that cut through the crap when launching a startup. These questions were, 1) Would you do this for fun?, 2) Does it make a positive difference in people’s lives? and 3) Will it be profitable enough to sustain?
This demonstrated the power and simplicity of smart questions.
Yet the greatest errors any business makes are due to one primary factor, more than many others combined: the failure to ask the right questions and to tell the trivial from the vital.
It can get so bad, some businesses consider necessities as luxuries and have not perfected the ability to tell the difference, something I cover in detail in this vitally important post.
That would be like debating, “Do I take my next breath?” It’s not really an option if you wish to go on living, yet in business, there are these types of discussions all the time.
Committees thrive on these kinds of debates.

As a result, I created a new video sharing some of the more relevant questions that routinely surface when I am working with clients, whether they’re startups or established companies needing some overdue Brand Intervention.
If you wanted a killer summary of this video, it would be this, “Ignore the crap. Stop wasting your time with BS and handle the real stuff that will make a difference.”
I hope you use these questions as a launching pad to catapult your brand to its next milestone of greatness.
Happy branding.
