In September, I co-created with Ahmad Imam a viral video that launched on LinkedIn getting an amazing 192,000 views.
Daymond John, Claude Silver and another 67 participants from 6 continents around the globe helped make it a true community event. The video even got covered by INC and Forbes magazines.
A Viral Video for the Holidays
So as the holidays approached, Ahmad (my collaborator) and I decided we needed to create something to follow up the first “hit” on LinkedIn.
So after much scratching our heads and our asses to tackle our first follow-up, we decided to create a short holiday featuring me (once again) beatboxing and Ahmad rapping to a Christmas theme. But we needed an intro to frame the video. So we realized capturing our “scratching our bums” collectively was the perfect ice breaker.
From a branding standpoint, I decided to use both our faces (like in our first video) playing off of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith’s Bad Boys feel. This way, we are building some brand equity and recognition.
The net result was 43,000+ views within the first 8 days on LinkedIn.
